Food Tech Matters, a new series of international events launching at London ExCeL on 21 November, aims to help scale up the newest technologies promising to deliver a sustainable and nutritious future for all, to bring them to the mass market.
The event will bring together global food brands, financiers and investors, mentors, business partners, nutrition experts, government, trade agencies and R&D professionals.
Amid huge interest in new technologies which can deliver better food and nutrition at the right price as well as trust, transparency and efficiency in the production process and supply chain, Food Tech Matters offers inspirational thought leadership and a fast-paced networking programme.
On the agenda are innovations in key areas including: gene editing, 3D printed food and personalised nutrition; sustainable packaging, artificial intelligence's potential for improving efficiency, transparency and reducing waste; viable protein alternatives to meat; innovative nutraceuticals driving product development and food waste solutions.
The first one-day event in London will include corporate and investor pitches, new technology workshops and the Food Tech Lab, a platform to showcase leading international start-ups working on everything from vertical farming to smart appliances.
Co:cubed, an agency which specialises in corporate-start-up collaboration, will host a free speed-dating style matchmaking service, where corporates meet five start-ups in 30 minutes, in sessions based on food tech themes like personalised nutrition and the human microbiome.
