Job Description

Reporting to the R&D Director the Technical Service Team Leader is responsible for working with both the business and R&D teams to manage application and product development projects.

In particular to,

  • Lead the technical service team, allocating resources, setting priorities and delivering projects.
  • Set up and implement the strategic projects for the growth of the business, working closely with the business and R&D teams
  • Manage the complete life cycle of projects from initiation to delivery, working with customers, the R&D team and key suppliers.
  • Develop strong working relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Provide technical services to support existing and new products & applications. 
  • Develop and train technical personnel to grow and prosper in the organization

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in chemistry, materials science or chemical engineering
  • Strong background in a chemical or polymer manufacturing environment, preferably with silicones.
  • Application experience of silicones preferred, but general knowledge of release coatings and textile coatings of interest.
  • Experience of project management methodology, such as stage gate.
  • First class leadership skills with experience directing, motivating, developing personnel
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to levearge these to develop working relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders
