Our client is a world-leading producer of specialised minerals used in the beverage industry, food processing, paints and plastics and other industrialized applications. Market share in Europe has increased by double digits in recent years with strong sales growth throughout Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa and India.
We are looking for a Managing Director to lead the next phase of growth in the EMEAI region. Reporting to the Global Vice President of Sales & Marketing, you will be fully responsible for the P&L in the region. Key responsibilities include:
Define the strategy and execution plan for growth of revenues, profitability, and new product introductions working closely together with the global sales team and global SBUs
Lead the commercial team in growing sales, closing new business and implementing new innovative products
Lead the office team in Germany consisting of customer service, logistics, and finance, establishing transparency and working on projects to optimize the business processes
We are looking for a candidate with a demonstrated background in international sales and P&L leadership in the chemical or process industry. Ideally the candidate will have experience in leading teams in technical sales of specialty products in an international environment.
Additional requirements include:
Degree in chemistry or engineering desirable.
15+ yrs. experience in international commercial leadership roles (EU / EMEA), in manufacturing and/or process-based industries
Proven experience with P&L responsibility
Change agent, able to lead a team with different cultural backgrounds
Fluent in English and German
Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, etc. Experience with CRM such as salesforce.com is considered a plus
Strong work ethic and ability to lead by example
Ability to travel extensively throughout the EMEAI region
