Our client is a leading international innovation driven silicone manufacturer based in North America. They develop and manufacture speciality organo-functional silicones for many diverse applications and markets such as personal care, polyurethane foam, inks & coatings, plastics, oil & gas and electronics.
They are expanding their business in Europe, and this appointment is part of that growth plan.
You will be responsible for prospecting, selling and developing the personal care markets in Germany, Switzerland and Nordic countries working closely with other key personnel in Europe and North America including the technical group.
Markets include suncare, shampoo & conditioners, creams & lotions and cosmetics. The successul candidate will have a good deal of autonomy to build the business which has ambitious growth targets.
Extensive travel will be required to meet with prospects, customers, colleages trade shows and other networking.
Professional sales executive with experience of selling polymers or additives into the personal care market
Technical understanding and experience of selling silicones an advantage, but not essential.
You must be a technical graduate, ideally but not essentially with a PhD in chemistry or a related subject, who has successfully moved from a technical role to a sales function.
Strong sense of team work and the ablity to work with others across international boundaries
Strong influencing skills and comfortable with autonomy in a growing business
Good analytical and quantitative skills
Highly motivated with a real can-do attitude is required for this pioneering business development role
