Job Description

The Global Category Manager is the single point of contact for a product category. This could be a number of products and oxo-alcohols are a area of particular interest. Others coiuld be caustic soda, acetic acid, acetone, VAM or similar industrial commodities. The role is responsible for managing all procurement needs of a defined product area. The main objective of this role is to ensure company requirements are met and leveraging global needs to maximize savings and benefits in the Procurement process. The role is responsible for leading and executing all procurement processes: category planning, sourcing, implementation, and supplier management within its area of scope

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Procurement, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related subject
  • Procurement Qualification is desirable (e.g. CIPS)
  • At least 8 years of experience in Procurement organizations of which a minimum of 4 years of applicable experience in managing a Procurement category or a customer account.
  • Experience in purchasing one of the mentioned products or related chemicals would be an asset but is not essential
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is essential, Portuguese is a plus
